ALLIANT POWER CORE RETURN POLICY

JANUARY 2023

1. Core charges for any Alliant Power product with core are shown by part number in the current price list.
2. Core credit qualifications:
a) Cores from vehicles/applications which are not supplied by Alliant Power will receive no credit.
b) Cores must be returned in the original manufacturer box. If original manufacturer box not available, return in plain box with manufacturer name and Alliant Power part number clearly noted on outside of box.
c) Cores must have eligibility
d) Cores must be a complete unit and not disassembled
e) Cores that are damaged by non-operations causes such as rough handling, fire, misuse, modification, abuse or improper removal are not acceptable
f) Once core returns are processed through the Alliant Power receiving station, individual units cannot be identified or returned.

  • Fully assembled and in rebuildable condition; no major parts missing or damaged by force. Cracked or broken tips will be accepted. Solenoids with cracked electricalconnectors or minor damage will be accepted.
  • IDMs - Fully assembled and in rebuildable condition; with minor housing damage is acceptable.
  • FICMs - Fully assembled and in rebuildable condition; minor cracks in connectors will be accepted (Figure 1); major damage to connectors will not be accepted (Figure 2).
  • Detroit Diesel ECMs, EGRs, Turbos - Fully assembled and in rebuildable condition. Broken, bent, cracked mounts, or missing parts will not be accepted.
  • PPT Remanufactured Turbos - Fully assembled and in rebuildable condition.
  • Broken, bent, cracked mounts, housing, electronics, or missing parts or actuator will not be accepted.
  • 6.0L Remanufactured EGR Valves - Fully assembled and in rebuildable condition
  • Broken, bent, cracked mounts, housing, electronics, or missing parts or actuator will not be accepted. Please see identification below.
  • Remanufactured High-Pressure Oil Pumps - Fully assembled and in rebuildable condition. Broken, bent fittings or electronics, or IPR valve, gear and gear bolt, low-pressure fuel supply pump or other missing parts will not be accepted.
  • Remanufactured High-Pressure Fuel Pumps - Fully assembled and in rebuildable condition. Broken, bent fittings or electronics, missing pump parts, or missing shipping shell will not be accepted.
  • Remanufactured L5P/L5D Common Rail Components - Fully assembled and in rebuildable condition. Visual inspection of core is required; No major parts missing or damage to connectors, solenoids, or threads will not be accepted (Figure 3).

3. Packing list, shipping container markings, ship-to:
a) Packing list: Each core return shipment must be accompanied by an Alliant Power “Core Return Packing List”.
b) Shipping container markings: Each shipping container must be marked CORE.
c) Central Distributors are to ship core returns to their regional Alliant Power warehouse.
d) Central Distributor core return packaging requirements
i) Alliant Power injector cores must be returned in the plastic trays provided by Alliant Power. A maximum of 10 trays should be properly secured to a wooden pallet. Notify Alliant Power if trays are not available and prepare shipment with appropriate box/packaging protection.
ii) All trays must be full. Cores must be sorted by injector type and placed into the trays. One mixed tray is permissible, but must be the top tray of the return.
iii) All other cores must be packaged to ensure best possible condition for core return. Returning core in the original box, with inserts, where applicable, is recommended to ensure core quality.
e) Service Dealers ship core returns directly to your Alliant Power Central Distributor.
4. Credit for your cores will be issued as soon as possible after receipt.
5. Core returns will only be accepted in relation to purchases as recorded in your Alliant Power Core Return Summary report. Alliant Power reserves the right to withhold credit for excessive returns vs. purchases.
6. Alliant Power core return process:
a) Contact Alliant Power Customer Service for Sales Return Order at dieselparts@alliantpower.com.
b) Cores not returned within 12-months from purchase will no longer be eligible for return.


Note: Alliant Power cannot be responsible for core damage or shortages where the shipment was improperly prepared for carrier pickup. Cores returned on pallets must not exceed 40”x48”x48” high or exceed 2,000 lbs. If pallets exceed weight and or height dimensions, pallets will be rejected upon carrier shipment.

Caution: Do not ship core and warranty together on the same pallet or skid. Cores and warranties must be separate and identified as such.
